Dear Reader,

Before reading this writing sample, know this:

  • The following persuasive / seductive copy was written for a landing page designed to lure interior designers into a sales funnel promoting an online coaching course that taught them how to land more clients.

  • The formula used to craft this landing page copy was inspired by the field of Positive Psychology and the Art of Seduction/Persuasion.

  • The copy's tone/energy/personality was inspired by Al-Anon marketing materials. Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship that offers a program of recovery for the families and friends of alcoholics.

  • This copy originally appeared on a different website. The copy has not changed; however, aesthetically, the editorial design is much different.

  • The "assessment" that's referred to at the bottom of the page has been omitted.

Like most interior designers, you sense something is wrong—very wrong. And the reason is obvious:

Business just isn’t what it used to be.

You may suspect your struggles are a result of society no longer believing professional interior design services are worth investing in. But you’d rather not believe that’s a possibility; after all, it would be embarrassing to think you spend your days doing things others feel are unnecessary, or things they feel they can do themselves.

Or maybe you’re acutely aware of a particular outside force that’s bearing down on your business, but you don’t want to deal with the hassle of being responsible for having to turn things around. After all, surely things will eventually work themselves out, you reassure yourself.

Then there are the moments when you ask yourself:

Am I to blame? Did I accidentally design my own struggle? If only I had marketed myself more effectively or lowered my proposed price on that wealthy family’s project or accepted that pain-in-the-ass remodel I turned down, etc. Then I wouldn’t be on the verge of shutting down shop.

Regardless of what the cause of your professional problems may be, one truth remains the same:

You’re continuing to struggle. You’re continuing to lose. And—worst of all—you’re losing hope.

You wouldn’t be here, in this moment, at this intervention, if all was well with your interior design business.

You’re here because your dream of being a fabulous interior designer hasn’t been so fabulous—hence why you feel so disappointed. Actually, scratch that. You feel devastated. You feel devastated because you have built your entire career around your passion for interior design, hoping that by doing what you love you would naturally manifest the life and career of your dreams. But nope—instead you’re…

Tired, frustrated, confused, angry, sad—and, most of all…

You’re scared.

That’s right. You’re deathly afraid that because most of your workdays contain more struggles than successes, you won't be able to afford to live out your dream of being a residential interior designer for much longer.

Residential interior designers are in trouble—BIG TROUBLE. Something is very wrong with the ways you’re forced to do business.

You sense something’s wrong; your fellow designers sense something’s wrong; and literally 99% of the general public doesn’t even consider hiring you when they’re in need of interior design solutions.

But what or who is to blame?

Or is there anyone or anything to blame, at all?

What’s causing of all this struggle you can’t seem to avoid?

It’s possible, for a variety of reasons, that you haven’t yet considered there being an outside force to blame. When it’s suggested that your underlying problems may be caused by something beyond yourself that you don’t have direct control over—something such as the economy, the industry, society, or the craft of interior design itself—you balk in disbelief. After all, each of those possible suspects appear, at first glance, to be doing just fine and are incapable of damaging the way you do business. Right?

Maybe you’re to blame. It’s certainly possible. And of course, such a realization would be totally devastating. But it could be true. People unknowingly self-sabotage all of the time.

Regardless of what the cause may be, your struggles remain the same—struggles that are affecting you at a cellular level, causing you insecurity, fear, guilt, obsession with others, and an overwhelming urge to control every person and situation you encounter in fear that they’ll somehow make things worse.

Ultimately, it’s obvious: nothing is changing for the better. So the struggle continues. Possibly forevermore.

It’s likely that you’ve arrived here at the Interior Designer Intervention because everything you have done to solve your problems has failed, and you have run out of ideas.

You’ve come because you know you are responsible for providing your clients, your family, your employees, and yourself with a good life. You’ve come because you are about to run out of projects to perform, or you already have and are desperately hoping to discover a get rich quick formula for getting back on your feet. Whatever the reason the may be, one thing is clear:

You need help — help that’s unlike any type of help you’ve ever received before — because all the help you’ve received in the past obviously hasn’t worked. Fortunately for you though, the help you need is offered here at the Interior Designer Intervention. And I’m prepared to offer you that help, right now, in this very moment — that is if you will allow me.

Before help can be provided, I need to know a little more about you, your situation, your struggle.

At the bottom of this page is an assessment; an assessment that will, should you fill it out, provide me with the information I need in order to create an accurate diagnosis of what, exactly, is causing your struggles. And yes… I will do this free of charge. And once your personalized diagnosis is complete, I will send it to you, along with a suggestion as to how your struggle can be ceased, via email.

So will you… Will you help me help you? If so, and I do hope you will, please take a moment to answer the short list of questions down below. After you click “Submit” I will receive your answers, evaluate your circumstances, and then email you your custom diagnosis and promised suggestion within roughly three business days.

You’ve got this!

It’s not time for your career to come to a close! And if you answer the assessment below, I promise I’ll prove that to be true.
